What is a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a way for consumers to buy local, seasonal produce directly from a farmer in their community. It is basically a farm share. A farmer offers a certain number of “shares” to the public. Local consumers buy a share into the farm – they support this year’s crop with money up front for a membership, and in exchange, each week during the growing season, they will receive a box of local, fresh, and seasonal produce directly from the farm.
We have two CSA's, a summer and a fall season. Each season runs for ten weeks. Because the seasons are really a continuum there is quite a bit of overlap between the seasons with their own unique differences. We break it up so members have the flexibility to choose if they want both "seasons" or if they want only one, making it easier for school, travel, or other obligations.

How it Works
Each of our CSA seasons runs for 10 weeks during the summer and fall. By joining a CSA you get a weekly share of the harvest consisting of 10-14 fruits, vegetables and herbs that are in season and at peak ripeness. Sign-up by May 1st to receive our early bird discount! Returning members also receive an additional $5 off each share including produce and egg shares.
Sign-ups are closed for 2023

Or send us an email at Tasteofsummer@gmail.com and we will email you a PDF version of our sign-up form that you can mail in. After receiving your request we will send out a confirmation email and invoice within 48 hours.
Please note that we only accept cash, check, or money orders at this time.
As it gets closer to the growing season we will send out reminder emails to our members with more helpful information.
If you want an idea of what we grow, check out our expected crop list.

10 Week Summer CSA
Full for 2023
Runs from mid-June through August. Each week will have a mix of summer produce such as green beans, lettuce, kale, squash and other summer favorites.
We have two share sizes and egg shares available:
Whole share: $360 meant for 2-4 people. (depending of course on how much you love vegetables!) If a whole share is too much   you can either order a 1/2 share or consider splitting your share with a friend or family member.
1/2 Share: $220 meant for 1-2 people. If a whole share is too much, this might be the share for you. A 1/2 share gives you the same wonderful variety of produce as our whole share, just in smaller quantities.
Egg shares: Offered only to our summer CSA members in a weekly, or alternating week format. Pick up a dozen eggs with your produce. Adding on an egg share to your summer CSA gives you a lower, member only price and helps us with planning!

10 Week Fall CSA
Full for 2023
Runs from September through early November. Similar to our summer CSA share, the fall share can be viewed as a continuum of our summer share. Each week we have a mix of fall produce such as tomatoes, summer/winter squash, sweet corn and other fall favorites.
We have two share sizes available:
Whole share: $370 meant for 2-4 people. (depending of course on how much you love vegetables!) If a whole share is too much   you can either order a 1/2 share or consider splitting your share with a friend or family member.
1/2 Share: $230 meant for 1-2 people. If a whole share is too much, this might be the share for you. A 1/2 share gives you the same wonderful variety of produce as our whole share, just in smaller quantities.
